Current Participants — How and When to Register
Enrollment is open now. Please take advantage of the special early registration period until 4pm on July 7th. You can register for any class as long as your child was enrolled in the last (May-June) session. After that, anyone (including new and past participants) can sign up for any available class.
You can sign up in person or by calling EAC directly at 773-262-2455. If you are traveling and can’t make a phone call, please email Pawel at swimwithus2007@gmail.com to make arrangements so that you can get registered before any new participants.
Through July 7th, this is a special early registration time just for current swimmers. If you can’t get to EAC during this time, email Pawel at swimwithus2007@gmail.com to make alternate arrangements so that you can get registered before any new participants.
New or Past Participants — How and When to Register
Registration Begins Monday July 8 at 8am and ends Friday August 30 at 4pm
See EAC hours above.
Because we need you to sign our waiver, we prefer that you register in person at EAC. We expect classes (especially Level 1) to fill up, so it’s always best to register sooner rather than later. Since learning to swim usually takes more than one 10 week session, we allow the swimmers already in our program to sign up earlier than new swimmers. This means that there could be limited spots in the class you want and for popular classes, there might not be any spots available. If the class you want is full, we do offer a waiting list. We are usually able to find classes for the first few swimmers on the waiting list. This will be done during the last few days of the registration period and everyone on the waiting list will be contacted about a class time or about a refund.
How to Choose the Appropriate Class
Children 4 years old and up: To qualify for Level 2, swimmers need to be able to jump into the deep end, turn on their back, and kick across the pool (20 yards) without any help from a teacher or a kick board. They also need to be comfortable jumping into the deep end and kicking across the pool on their front using a kick board. The teachers are not in the pool for Levels 2 – 5. If your child cannot perform these skills, please sign up for Level 1. If your child can perform these skills, sign up for Level 2. If your child can do more than these skills, email as much information as possible to swimwithus2007@gmail.com to discuss the appropriate level.
Adults 16 and up: You are considered a beginner if you cannot cross the deep end of the pool independently. A teacher will be in the pool with you for your class. You are considered an intermediate or advanced swimmer if you are comfortable swimming across the deep end of the pool independently. A teacher will not be in the pool with you during your class.
Missed Class Policy
Make up classes are not guaranteed. If space is available, we will try our best to allow one make up class per session. At this time, we cannot offer make up classes for beginner swimmers in the Tuesday 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 adult classes.
Locker Rooms
EAC’s rules require that individuals over 6 years old use the appropriate locker room. In addition to the men’s and women’s locker rooms, EAC also offers a small unisex bathroom without a shower.
